Abstract: Large, hardbound, brown and black photograph album titled 'India, Rathfarnham, Balbriggan' containing 96 black and white photographs (of uniform size), capturing aspects of life in Rathfarnham, Balbriggan and India. Note the title was attributed by a previous archivist, and cannot be attributed to the photographer, M. Michael Corcoran.

Scope and content
The photographs of Rathfarnham include photographs of the gardens, grounds, buildings including the National School; playing fields, Sisters, pupils, school orchestra and staff in Loreto Abbey Rathfarnham. Also photographed are the cemetery, science room, music room, organ, side altars, museum, parlour rooms, along with agricultural activities including threshing in October 1905, an unidentified Sister feeding a fawn, and hay cocks on the front lawns of Loreto Abbey Rathfarnham, along with various photographs of pupils and Sisters with farm animals. Snow covered grounds of Loreto Abbey Rathfarnham in April 1908 are also photographed. Groups of unidentified young pupils (girls and boys) posed in the grounds of Loreto Abbey Rathfarnham, along with a photograph of a posed group of pupils, many wearing Child of Mary medals, holding hockey sticks in front of goals in the grounds of Loreto Abbey Rathfarnham.
Scope and content
Photographs of Balbriggan include various views of convent buildings and grounds in Loreto Balbriggan in 1907, including views of the interior of a greenhouse, a train signal box, train lines with sea in background, street views of Balbriggan, along with a photograph of two Sisters standing in front of an unidentified convent, possibly Balbriggan. Views of the beach at Balbriggan include children playing on the beach, groups of Sisters on the beach including a Sister sitting on a bath chair, and a further photograph of the boys identified as 'Fred and Jack Towers' in MC/PHO/2 and MC/PHO/5, with toy boats in a rock pool. Photographs of children, including boys are also present, the location of the photographs are unknown. These include groups of unidentified boys with small musical horns and 1 drum, some wearing paper hats, preparing for a mock military parade; groups of unidentified young boys posed in formal groups, and caught in play including fishing in a tub, and four boys stand bare-footed dressed in white albs, with hands posed in prayer.
Scope and content
There are a few photographs from India, including photographs of men in Indian dress posed with carriage and horse, views of Asian young women and family groups of women in traditional costume with head dresses; photograph of a snake with engorged stomach and later the snake with stomach lacerated and its contents exposed, to reveal that the source of the engorged stomach. The album also features photographs of unidentified religious from other orders/congregation; unidentified IBVM Sisters in individual portraits and formal group poses; unidentified young women in groups, or individually with cameras and bicycles; a photograph of man standing with horse which appears to have sores on its back and shoulders; two Sisters sitting in a cart of hay, a Jack Russell terrier posed on a tree stump and groups of unidentified pupils in white aprons and caps.
