Extant methylation bisulfite sequencing (BS) researches mainly focus on calling SNP, DMR, and ASM, instead of virus integration positions. We developed a new and easy-to-use software, named as BS-virus-finder (https://github.com/BioInfoTools/BSVF), to detect viral integration breakpoints in whole human genomes. BS-virus-finder demonstrates moderate sensitivity and specificity, and is useful to be applied in epigenetic researches and to reveal the relationship between viral integration and DNA methylation. BS-virus-finder is the first software to detect virus by using bisulfite sequencing data.
