European Forum Highlight of 15 October 2016
The European Union is facing, in the context of a globalized crisis, a challenge to its most fundamental values and principles of functioning. Polish government's has embarked in a course, since it attained power at the autumn 2015, that engenders deep tensions. Thus, for the first time, on January 16, 2016, the European Commission decided to activate the new EU Framework to strengthen the Rule of Law. A dialogue has then been engaged, whose ultimate outcome, however, still remains uncertain.
