Notebook
This is a small pocket notebook, the diary of Dr W. Roy Blore from embarkation from Britain in July 1917 en route for the Western Front. It deals with the everyday life and work of the RAMC there, and ends soon after the Armistice 11 November 1918.
In a torn out insert is a draft that Major Blore wrote which commends the bravery of 2nd Lt. T. Geraghty, 6th E. Yorks. regiment - when the advanced dressing station, Vermelles was struck by a shell and caught fire on 13 March 1918.
Also part of this collection are all Blore's letters home, his notebooks from his service as a doctor at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, as well as his sleeping bag and many other artefacts including a photo of Blore outside his dugout at Suvla Bay.
